Meteorology

Meteorology is the study of Earth's atmosphere. Meteorology is an extremely interdisciplinary science, drawing on the laws of physics and chemistry to aid in our understanding of Earth's atmosphere, its processes, and its structure. It is a practical science because everyone is concerned about the weather. How climate changes over time in response to the actions of people is a topic of urgent worldwide concern. The study of meteorology is of critical importance in protecting Earth's environment.

A meteorologist is an individual with specialized education who uses scientific principles to explain, understand, observe or forecast the earth's atmospheric phenomena and/or how the atmosphere affects the earth and life on the planet.

How do you become a Meteorologist :-

Meteorology students will gain a firm understanding of the physics and chemistry of the atmosphere. They will understand small- and large-scale meteorological events. Meteorologists must be able to interpret radar maps. Advanced mathematics is also required in order to understand the underlying physics of the atmosphere.
Meteorologists also learn how to predict the weather, based on analysis of atmospheric data. This is called Synoptic Meteorology.                                                                          Those who want to do scientific research in the field will want to pursue graduate study.
